Meet the 5th grade team
Mrs. Lopez believes that one of the greatest accomplishments someone can achieve is to have a positive impact on a child’s life. She strives to do this by providing a learning environment that promotes growth, success, positivity, and a sense of family. Her desire for high achievement will help her students reach their potential and be successful citizens both in the classroom and community. She has had a passion for learning and a desire to teach from a small age. In 2017, her passion took flight when she started teaching fourth grade at the Blackfoot School District. During her time in Blackfoot, she lead the student council, participated on both the leadership team, and the PBIS committee. Being involved in these programs created an opportunity for Mrs. Lopez to share her love of community and to give back to the community she taught in. She is excited to expand her love for teaching to the Pocatello/Chubbuck school district this year where she will join the fifth grade team. She cannot wait to have the best year ever!
Mr. Humphrey started his professional career in Public Relations and Graphic Design. He always thought about how amazing it would be to be a teacher. After ten years, Mr. Humphrey went back to school to has become a teacher. He has been teaching for four years, all at Gate City Elementary. It has been everything he hoped it would be. He loves teaching in 5th grade and being around the students. His goal is to instill a love of learning in all students that will be with them their whole lives.
The 5th grade is doing the PASS Program again this year. There is a link to the letter explaining the process and the rewards in the links at the right.
