Jaye Anne CofflandJaye Anne Coffland

Mrs. Coffland is about to start her second year (2020-2021) at Gate City, ninth year in Pocatello, and seventeenth year overall teaching learners from first through fifth grade. She enjoys teaching younger elementary. She especially loves teaching math through small-group activities, games, and centers. In her time away from school Mrs. Coffland is very involved with ISU Women’s Basketball, and loves going to games and especially to support her adoptive “granddaughters” on the team. She also loves spending time with her husband and two mostly-grown sons, as well as quilting and baking & decorating cookies, cakes, and cupcakes.

Sean SmithSean Smith

Mr. Smith has worked for the district for 3 years in both the elementary P.E. and general classroom setting. Originally from Massachusetts, Mr. Smith finished his college degree in Movement Science and decided to make the move to Pocatello. In his first two years in the district, Mr. Smith enjoyed teaching P.E. at several schools. However, he decided to make a change to teaching 3rd grade last year in order to become more well-rounded as a professional. In his opinion, the transition to teaching 3rd grade at Gate City was an excellent decision! Overall, Mr. Smith enjoys teaching and working with the elementary students in any fashion. His ultimate goal is to provide students with academic and life skills to become happy and successful individuals.

Elizabeth ParadisElizabeth Paradis

Ms. Paradis is new to Gate City this year and is looking forward to becoming a part of the community and this school.  She graduated from Boise State University with her education degree in 2012 and just last year completed her master’s degree in Education Leadership from BSU as well.   After teaching for 8 years in the West Ada School District, 4 of which were in 1st grade, and the other 4 in 4th grade, she decided to move to Eastern Idaho to pursue the next step of her life.

She is from the small town of Council, Idaho, where she grew up on a working cattle ranch with her three brothers.  Growing up that way taught Ms. Paradis to enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer.  She is very excited to embrace this new opportunity to help children be the best they can be at Gate City.
