Mrs. Jensen began her teaching career as a substitute teacher in 2003 and then became a kindergarten teacher at Indian Hills in 2004. The next year, Mrs. Jensen transferred to Gate City in 2005 where she continued teaching kindergarten until 2012. Then, she graduated to first grade. Mrs. Jensen loves working with the younger learners because she never knows what might happen each day, which makes for a very unpredictable, fun-loving environment.
Mrs. Jensen comes from a family of teachers and is married with two sons. She loves to read, garden, craft, go boating and spend time with family.
Mrs. Iwakiri has taught in the first grade for over 10 years. She attended ISU for her education degree. She worked at Washington Elementary for 7 years and then moved up to Gate City. Mrs. Iwakiri has a passion to teach kids how to read and how to become a successful learner. When asked about her favorite part about teaching first grade she said "When they walk into my classroom at the beginning of the year they are very much like a kindergartner still, they are very dependant on me. I love watching them become a reader, to watch them take control of their learning, and become more independent. It is so fun to watch the transformation in each of the kids. "
Mrs. Tranmer is a proud Pocatello native! She graduated from Idaho State University in 2013. This is her eighth year teaching, but her first year in first grade! She has wanted to teach first grade since she was in first grade herself! This really is a dream come true for her and she is so excited to learn and grow with her class.
Mrs. Tranmer is married, has a one year old daughter, and a two year old labradoodle named Huckleberry. She loves to read, watch movies, go hiking, and spend time with family.
